Netrunner OCTGN Tournament: 1

• First Round Deadline: Matches to be completed no later than October 9th, 2012 16:00 GMT.

 

Rules:

• You must commit to a single corp & runner deck for the duration of the tournament.  This is on the honor system.  The top players in the finals will need to submit their deck lists prior to the start of the finals.  Deck lists will be published after the conclusion of the tournament.
• Decks must be constructed using FFG deck restrictions.  This is not a single box tournament.  You are free to use 3x of each card.
• Only cards from the CORE set may be used to construct your deck.  Spoiled cards from upcoming Data Packs are not permitted.
• Games must be completed ~1 week from which the round begins.  The specific date/time will be listed with the round kickoff notice.  It is up to the players to co-ordinate with each other to get their match played.  BGG mail or the Challonge tournament forum are the preferred methods.
• If players do not complete any games in the allotted window, they will be marked as having a single incomplete first game with a tied match (resulting in a single prestige point being awarded to each player).
• All FFG tournament rules apply, except that matches are un-timed.
• Please refrain from discussing match or deck details until all parties involved are either eliminated or the tournament is over.

Reporting Match Results:

At the conclusion of a match, the winner should post the match results in the Netrunner OCTGN Tournament Geeklist.

Match results should be reported in the following format:

Round # / Game 1: Player A, Faction/Corp ([“winner” or loser agenda score]) – Player B, Faction/Corp ([“winner” or loser agenda score])

Round # / Game 2: Player A, Faction/Corp ([“winner” or loser agenda score]) – Player B, Faction/Corp ([“winner” or loser agenda score])

The loser should then quote the winner’s post and add ‘Verified’.

* We’ve decided to not record the winner’s score and win condition in order to obfuscate how they won.

Round 1 / Game 1: Shobalk, Jinteki (Winner) – Byronczimmer, Shaper (3)

Round 1 / Game 2: Shobalk, Criminal (4) – Byronczimmer, NBN (Winner)

The tournament managers will take care of entering the results into Challonge.

Games will be played on OCTGN.  Please try to familiarize yourself with the program prior to begining the tournament.  Play some practice games.  It’s usually not too difficult to find a game.  Don’t disadvantage your opponent by coming in unprepared.

Disconnects:

If the game client disconnects prior to the game’s completion, the game does not count.  You may replay it in it’s entirety, or the game may be treated as a 0 – 0 tie (worth 1 prestige for each player).  Please contact one of the tournament managers if you believe an opponent is maliciously disconnecting.  These will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Voice Chat

Dbzer0 has been kind enough to volunteer his mumble server for the tournament’s use. Mumble is a client/server voice chat application that we can use to talk during our matches.  Not mandatory, but encouraged!  Find out how to connect and use mumble!

Other Notes

This is an international event.  It is could be possible that you and your opponent are in vastly different timezones.  Please take this into consideration, and try to be as flexible as possible with your scheduling.
